Project Zero by Actieve, LLC
Terms of service
Effective October 21, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Actieve, LLC, Rochester, NY ("we") for the Project Zero website, desktop app and mobile apps ("Project Zero"). By creating an account or using Project Zero you agree to them. If you use it for a company, you agree for that company and confirm you're allowed to.
Your account
- You need to be 16 or older and give us accurate information.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account and on devices you set up.
- Tell us at support@actieve.com if you think someone else has access to it.
What you share
Project Zero lets you make services on your devices reachable by people you choose. You decide what to share and with whom, and you're responsible for it:
- Only share services you own or have permission to share, and only from devices you're allowed to use that way. That includes your employer's or school's rules.
- Anyone you give access to, including through a share link, can reach that service as if they were on its network. Protect services with their own sign-in where it matters.
- You keep all rights to your services and data. We don't look inside the connections, and we only use information about them as the privacy policy describes.
What's not allowed
- Breaking the law, or helping someone else do so.
- Reaching or trying to reach services or networks you aren't allowed to.
- Distributing malware, or sharing content that infringes someone's rights or exploits anyone.
- Disrupting Project Zero or others' use of it, or trying to get around its limits or security.
- Reselling Project Zero, or running it as a public proxy or VPN for people outside your own account or company.
We may suspend or remove shares, devices or accounts that break these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or someone's safety stops us.
Plans and payment
- The free plan covers one person and two services. Company plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices are on the pricing page.
- Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid.
- Payments aren't refundable except where the law requires, or where we say so in writing.
- If a payment fails, or a company goes over its plan, we may limit new shares or members until it's sorted out. We'll tell the company's administrators first.
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of a paid plan.
The apps
The apps are licensed, not sold. You can install and use them for Project Zero. Don't copy, change, or reverse engineer them except where the law allows, or where the open source licences of their parts do (Project Zero is built on OpenZiti, under the Apache 2.0 licence). If you got an app from the App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply, but we, not Apple or Google, are responsible for the app and its support.
Availability
We work to keep Project Zero running and secure, but it's provided as is. We don't promise it will always be available, error free, or suitable for a particular use. Don't rely on it as the only way to reach something critical.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim about Project Zero is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it, or $100 if that's more. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
If someone makes a claim against us because of what you shared or how you used Project Zero against these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
Ending
You can stop at any time and delete your account. We may end or suspend accounts that break these terms. If we stop offering Project Zero, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and refund any period paid for but not provided.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for changes that matter, tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they apply. Using Project Zero after that means you accept them.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New York State, USA. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Monroe County, New York, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
