Databases
Share a database without putting it on the internet.
Database ports are among the most scanned on the internet, and an exposed SQL Server or MySQL is one weak password from a breach. Project Zero lets your team connect with their usual tools while the database stays invisible to everyone else.
Free for you and two services. Built on OpenZiti by Actieve.
Connect with the tools you already use
Share the database from the machine it runs on and give it a name such as inventory.acme.ziti. Your team connects with SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio, MySQL Workbench, DBeaver, pgAdmin or their own application, using that address and the database's normal login.
Access that matches your team
- Give a group such as “Data team” access, and new members get it automatically.
- Give a consultant access by email for the length of a project.
- See who has access to each database in one place, and remove it in one click.
- The database port is never opened on your firewall or router.
Questions
Good to know.
Which databases work?
SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and any other database that listens on a TCP port.
Does it replace database logins?
No, and it shouldn't. Project Zero controls who can reach the database; the database still controls what each login can do.
Can an app server use it?
Yes. A server running the Project Zero app can reach a shared database at its private address like any other client.
